Harold and Maude (1971)
A lot of people enjoy being dead. But they are not dead, really. They’re just backing away from life. Reach out! Take a chance! Get hurt even. But play as well as you can. Go team, go! Give me an L. Give me an I. Give me a V. Give me an E. L-I-V-E. LIVE!
“Some men are born to plow fields, some live to be great physicians, others to be great kings. Me, I was born to serve you Arthur and I’m proud of that. And I wouldn’t change a thing.”

#okay but i have to say that this entire episode was without a doubt the most romantic thing i have ever ever seen. #i don’t consider myself a merthur shipper but holy hell on earth this is a love story if the world ever saw one. #and the way these two played it like it was THE love story #i honestly started to doubt myself and reality when in over 3 scenes i could not shake the overwhelming premonition that they were going #to kiss and that it would be the most tender heartfelt and single most beautiful sight that the lords could ever decree #’just… hold me’ #JUST HOLD ME?!?! #isn’t it a law of chemical equilibrium that a line such as that cannot be uttered between people who aren’t soulmates?
“Just, just hold me. Please. There’s something I want to say…”
I LOVE YOU
